Photography

A perspective view of an abandoned village near Mundra (Gujarat). Wagher's who generally belong to the fishing community, leave the village abandoned in the month of Ramzaan and Id and go back home to their relatives.
Most interesting part of the story is.... they leave their belongings unlocked.....!

Photography

This picture tells us of a story... a story where development took over other occupations for living.
It is taken at mundra (Gujarat). Fishermen are the most effected communities due to the development of ports..! Mangroves have depleted and CRZ norms have been exploited!
This picture silently speaks of the contrast between the dying Fishing industry and the rise of the Port industry...!

Underneath the maple tree

A few silent moments underneath the maple tree, with fading memories
and an old diary...! I sit silently .
Thoughts churning in my mind galloping into the far world of mystery...!
Life that was and the changing dynamics, so different from history....!
I wait till the Sun sets in, folding my diary i walk back home.
dry maple leaf peeps out from my diary showing where i had left my
reading..!
I walk through waiting for another day of Sunshine with a new hope and
happiness...!

Carbon Sequestration and Carbon Credits

when there is carbon market booming why nt benefit from it... right...! the question now arises is that if we commercialise this issue shall we be doing justice to nature... to whome are we benefiting and for what...? in my thesis i am trying to work out a new methodology to calculate carbon credits basically for forestry sector. As a botanist would say how you would be using the biomass to calculate the carbon credit? then there are several methods to work it out. Scientifically dry weight would give the actual biomass of the plant. but we cant go and pull out each and every tree to calculate its actual biomass. hence allometric calculation is worked out through first correlating the different parameters of the plant , single species particularly. hence a formula is derived to assume the biomass of a plant bt just measuring one of its parameters, say GBH. To explain it properly if i have the measurement of your feet, i may calculate your body height and weight...! this is a simple way to work out the weight of a tree. biomass of different species of trees is different as the density may vary in proportion with its GBH as compared to other trees.Kachchh region has avicennia marina as the dominant species. as it has survived the drastic change in temperature and increasing salinty of the region.
